APU for Trucks

❄️ What is an Electric APU?

It's your key to zero-idle comfort, lower costs, and happier drivers. An Electric APU (Auxiliary Power Unit) is a battery-powered system that runs your truck’s air conditioning and other onboard electronics without needing to idle the main engine. Our systems use advanced 12V Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO₄) batteries to provide clean, quiet, and reliable power when you're parked.

📜 How do your APUs help with CARB and other state idling regulations?

They make compliance effortless. Turn off your engine, turn on the APU, and you're 100% legal.

Our battery-powered APUs produce zero emissions, making them fully compliant with the strictest anti-idling laws, including those from the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and regulations in states like Illinois, New York, and Texas. With our system, you avoid thousands of dollars in potential fines.

Air Conditioning Units

💰 Why should I invest in a 12V parking A/C instead of just idling my engine?

This is the most important question, and the answer is simple: Return on Investment (ROI).

  • Massive Fuel Savings: An idling truck burns about 1 gallon of diesel per hour. At 4−5/gallon,that′sover∗∗4−5/gallon,that′sover∗∗40 per 10-hour rest period**. Our A/C uses a tiny fraction of that in battery power, saving you thousands of dollars per truck, per year.
  • Reduced Engine Wear: Every hour of idling is an hour of wear on your most expensive asset. A parking A/C eliminates thousands of hours of unnecessary engine runtime, extending engine life and reducing maintenance costs.
  • Avoid Anti-Idling Fines: States like California have strict anti-idling laws with hefty fines. A no-idle A/C makes your fleet compliant and avoids costly tickets.
  • Driver Retention: A quiet, cool, and comfortable cab is one of the top demands of professional drivers. Investing in their comfort is a direct investment in retaining your best talent.
🔋 What kind of battery setup do I really need for a full 8-10 hour night?

This is the key to a successful no-idle system. For a full DOT-mandated rest period, especially in warmer climates, we recommend the following for our 12V A/C units:

  • Good: A minimum of 200Ah of dedicated LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate) batteries. This will work well in milder climates.
  • Better (Recommended Standard): A 300Ah to 400Ah LiFePO4 battery bank. This is the "sweet spot" that provides reliable, all-night comfort in most US climates without causing battery anxiety.
  • Best (For Hot Climates): A 400Ah+ LiFePO4 battery bank. If your routes are in Texas, Arizona, or Florida, this larger capacity ensures the A/C can run as hard as it needs to all night long with power to spare.
🛠️ What kind of maintenance is required?

Our parking A/C units are designed to be low-maintenance, but a little care goes a long way to ensure peak performance.

  • Monthly Check: In a dusty environment, it's a good idea to clean the outdoor unit's condenser coils. Simply use compressed air to blow out any dust or debris. This ensures the unit can "breathe" properly and cool efficiently.
  • Indoor Filter: Check and clean the indoor unit's air filter periodically.
  • Annual Check: Before the summer season, it's good practice to power on the unit, check for strong airflow, and ensure all connections are tight.

Power Solutions

🔋 What exactly is a 12V LiFePO₄ Parking Battery?

It’s the heart of a modern no-idle system—a dedicated power source for all your truck’s hotel loads.

Unlike starter batteries designed for a quick burst of power, our 12V Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO₄) parking batteries are deep-cycle powerhouses. They are engineered to safely provide hours of continuous energy for your parking air conditioner, microwave, and electronics, all without needing to idle your engine.

🤔 How do I choose the right size battery for my parking cooler?

It's simple. Match the battery capacity to your typical rest time.

  • For Shorter, Daytime Stops (a few hours): A single 200Ah battery or a parallel bank of two 100Ah batteries is often a perfect, cost-effective solution.
  • For Full Overnight Comfort (8-10+ hours): We recommend a larger capacity bank, starting from 300Ah and up, to ensure you have plenty of power for A/C all night long, even in hot climates.
